MXLight and Facebook Live

Has anyone managed to get MXLight w/ATEMTS and VLC working on Facebook Live?  Firewalls all open, correct install version of VLC, etc, etc

I have managed to get MXLight to to connect with the Facebook RTMP server, but it immediately disconnects with an input/output error according to the log.  I have tried using encode process settings used for youtube, but something is not right somewhere. Yet I have used MXLight with Wowsa several times so I seem to have my head wrapped around this.   Despite 8 hours of websearch, the only other refference I can find is one unanswered on this forum from last year (which I added to)

If you've had success, I'd like to know all precise settings, not just the streaming tab, but everything.

Thanks

Did you already try another

Did you already try another software like open broadcaster https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-stream-to-facebook-live.391/?

(perhaps with an built-in camera)? So you could be sure  that the connection data is right.

Well I've already purchased

So, I'd just like to add that YES, with Rich's help I finally managed to get MXLight talking with Facebook Live, and very successfully as well..  So I'd like to share a few tips I came across that did come back and bite me in the butt.  The issue I was having was the connection, where I  appeared to connect and was immediately disconnected from the server.  the Error Logs showed an 'input/output" error.

1.  In the RTMP server set-up, in the Application box I had typed RTMP....  instead of "rtmp".  Yes, all settings are "case sensative".  If you overlook one character, then the server will drop  the client.  I had a similar issue using the Wowsa server in the copy/paste function,  where the act of copying and pasting was in fact adding a space character in the streaming key.

2.  If you do get into issues with the 50Mb buffer filling up, then the problem is between what MXL sends, and what the server is willing to accept.  My ISP gives me around 5Mbps upload speed so that part was fine.  BUT I was checking my "encoding rates.  There's what the video comes from in the ATEM.... and what it's re-rendered for sending.  My source on the ATEM was Standard Def, but I was setting the output to 1280X720....   Once I'd set the output size in the "streaming" tab back to a standard def size, 720X480, all my buffer issues went away.  On the MXLight FAQ's page, there is a chart with recommended video sizes for the appropriate bandwidth you have.  That seems to be the key to keeping the buffer issue in check.

Otherwise, I've been using MXLight to record successfully for several shows, and inspite of my "I D 10 T" error of my own, it's been a great little piece of software.  It's just pickie on how precise you need to be, so compare characters, spaces, caps, exactly.  the mind can make you overlook the most simplistic issues.

Enjoy.

MXLIGHT Online Store

Hi Rich,

I thought I try to get hold of you this way.

I really need to purchase the full Version of MXLIGHT in your store but it is taken offline till the 31st.

I need the programm for a church conference on the 28th.

Is there any way to get my hands on a full version?

Thanks

Jonathan
