SHIFT key on 1M/E control panel

I have a BMD ATEM 2M/E Prodn Studio 4K mixer with a 1M/E Control surface. I regularly run live telecasts from two locations and use the upper row on the control surface to switch location one & the lower row for the other location. To access to the lower row on the 1M/E panel I have to press the SHIFT key to get to the lower row and to the Macros I have built for the second location.

Are there any developers that could create a script that will allow the SHIFT key to stay active while I am switching the image sources & macros from location two. In effect create a SHIFT lock. I don't have the skills to code this so any help would be appreciated. I have written to BMD to request this but who knows if & when my request will be seen as useful for other ATEM owners.

In the meantime, if you

In the meantime, if you double punch the preview bus buttons, it will automaticaly put those shifted sources into preview.

I know its not the solution you were asking for, but may be useful until you do.

Good Luck!

Thanks - I was aware of that

Thanks - I was aware of that but useful that you refreshed my memory. If someone could come up with a solution for this. In the heat of a live telecast I do sometimes forget to hit SHIFT key so the wrong source or macro has been sighted - more than once!!

Why not snapshot the Mixer in

Why not snapshot the Mixer in Location 1 as an XML file, so that shifted sources and macros are location 2s.

Then invert the setup so macros and Sources for Location1 are now the shifted ones, and snapshot it again, such that you end up with two XML files named "Location1" and "Location2".

When you arrive on site, load the appropriate config.

SHIFT key

Thanks for the suggestion John. The issue is these 2 locations are both live during the same telecast so I am flicking back & forth between these remotes, so reloading the XML file would not be viable. I have experimented with your software & X-keys so may persue that as an option & just create lots of macros including those for both locations.

Another Band-Aid until you

Another Band-Aid until you find the right solution could be to use your macro buttons as your m/e2 control.

Macro 1 would be placing shifted source 1 into me2 preview. Macro 2  would be placing shifted source 2 into me2 preview ect.

of coarse Macro button 10 would be a take or cut for m/e2.

Its a little tedious to set up, but will work. In other words, your macro buttons would become the switcher for M/E2

I used to use this method for multidestination shows before I learned about JustMacros.

Of coarse if your already using atem macros in your workflow, you probly thought of this already.
