Interfacing a BMD Studio Converter 2 with a ClearCom System

Hey everyone,

I just purchased a BMD Studio Converter 2 (with 4 Camera Converters) to work in conjuction with our ATEM 2 M/E production switcher for my church. I am curious how to interface our existing Clearcom System with the BMD System.

Our clearcom system is very basic; It’s a 4 channel PL-Pro system (We use channel 1 for cameras/video). I have looked into the Tatical Fiber Systems Clearcom Interface unit - http://tacticalfiber.com/proddetail.php?prod=2BMCCRT242 - and that looks to be exactly what we are looking for.

But my question is this; We have a Clearcom EF-1M 4-wire interface unit sitting in the closet collecting dust. It looks to be exactly the same as the TFS unit, could we use that to get our Clearcom Audio into the BMD System?

Also side note; What do you suggest for headsets for the Camera Converters? Is there a specific impedence we need to use?

Thanks everyone!

I got to looking around today

I got to looking around today and found a Clearcom AC-10H unit. I see that it is also capable of doing 4 wire interface.

Would this unit work as well? I would like to use it if possible? Since it is a rackmountable.

any pros / cons to using either the AC-10H, or the EF-1M unit?

Not to change subjects

Not to change subjects here....

Anybody have any good suggestions for headsets for the camera converters? I have seen alot of people suggesting gaming heasets, while I’m sure these will work I am looking for something a little more “professional” looking. We will be using the camera converters in fairly loud enviroments, we are really only looking for good clear, clean, loud audio from the director. The camera ops rarely talk while we are on the air, so the mic quality is not mission critical. Is it true that only 32 ohm headsets will work with the camera converters?

Headsets

We use the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2.0 Gaming Headset (From Kingston) Look really good and great sound. They're used in quiet conference situations and also at outdoor field sports with fans and supporters making themselves heard and the comms is still audible!

If the camera didn't see it, it didn't happen!

How about the Datavideo HP-1

How about the Datavideo HP-1 headsets as an option for the camera converter? 24 ohm impedence.
