Genlocking ATEM at 1080p50

I'm trying to reduce latency in a live keying system which includes camera through ATEM and into a Decklink card.

I understand that genlocking the camera and the ATEM to a common reference should reduce the min frame sync delay through the ATEM from 1 frame to 1 line.

However, the system is running 1080p50 and most sync gens I've found don't produce a tri-level sync abov 1080i50. Both 50Hz sync signals should have the same vertical structure, i.e. a VBI at 50Hz, but will have different horizontal structure, i.e. 1080 lines per frame for 1080p and 540 lines per frame for 1080i.

So the question is, do I have to find a sync gen that outputs 1080p50 sync, or will a 1080i50 tri-level sync be sufficient to lock the ATEM when it is in 1080p50 mode?

(or, put another way, do ATEMs and BM cameras with genlock care about line sync pulses or only sync to the frame information?)

Any 50hz reference should be

Any 50hz reference should be ok for 1080p 50 - even Black + Burst has the pulse timings at 50hz.
