Audio Mackie Control Experiences

Who owns a Mackie MCU and is using it successfully with their Atem? I am looking for an hardware option to control AFV audio from multiple sources and mixing the sound over SDI seems like the right idea. Some questions:

* Can any of the other MCU buttons be used with the ATEM? Do they do anything at all?

* Can I control channels other than 1-8? Can they be switched reasonably quickly using panel buttons or do I have to start a complicate mapping process?

* Does anyone use any other hardware? I have heard of the BCF2000 or the Korg Nano? Any recommendations or experiences?

I also need to mix in up to 4 studio commentators. Either these will be handled via a smaller mixer or they will be embedded into some of the remaining camera feeds that do not bring their own audio. A digital mixer would also be a solution, but I am not willing to sacrifice Auto Follow Video for some of the other sources.

So the big question really is: Is there a mixer that can handle both Midi (ATEM) sources as well as physical cable connections, preferably without having to program an intermediate like Just Macros? (silently steering the Midi sources and outputting the physical sources into a separate XLR group out that can be fed to the ATEM.)

BCF2000

I use 2 x BCF2000 panels alongside an outboard analog mixer.

Where would I be without the 'undo' button
