Atem Studio HD - animated lower third

Hi. I know that such a topic was discussed a lot, but is still a inconvenience. Is there any other softwares like CasperCG to integrate a animated lower third on a live production? Or at least, (with the Blackmagic help) a software update to be able to add .mov lowers to media.

Thank you!

There are some other software

There are some other software products, which can be used. Some with real key & fill signals, some with luma key or greenscreen. If you want, take MS PowerPoint.... But you will always need an additional PC for it !

When you wnt to upload mov-files, you need to render them before. So you will need a PC/Mac to prepare. Why do you want to play it from the mixer instead of playing them from this caracter generator / separate PC ? The ATEM does a good job as mixer and a dedicated character generator and media player  does a good job as character generator and media player.....

Don't wait for any advanced software features from Blackmagic. They also ignored really important requests....

I saw something cool on my last job: Playout directly from Premiere Pro into the mixer, with real alpha (key / fill), so no problems with using all colors etc. With the new Essential Graphics-module, we could also create a template in After Effects, with the text input directly and dynamically in Premiere, but rendered on the fly as if in After Effects. Of course, you need an output card with Fill and Key, which currently means a rackmounted PC with a Decklink card.

For playout of generic VTs that are made or other stuff, you can use it with a typical HDMI out of any Macbook Pro though, which was nice.

Thank you for the answers

Thank you for the answers Theos and Araho. I do have another pc with hdmi linked to Atem , and the .mov is exported from After Effects (mov/png). Unfortually I can't get a clean lower and seems that only with Decklink can be done.

The " new " ATEM Television Studio don`t have support for that, as "Media Pool Clip Capacity = None"

Congrats BlackMagic for forcing people to buy extra equipment's instead of solving an old end-users request.

How did you attempt to get a

How did you attempt to get a clean key? I've done luma keying with great success on moving graphics over HDMI before - but it limits you to not using black/gray in the graphics. It's a matter of tweaking, persistence and preparation.

The old TVS (which I have) does not allow for playback of clips from the Media Player either, btw. It's not a "new" thing to not support it. If you want everything integrated, buy something more expensive or get someone to make your stuff for you. If you want cheap, be prepared to make an effort :)
